What is Future 5?

Launched in 2010, Future 5 is a project in partnership with PRWeek to signpost the future direction of communications.

Helping brands change the way they are talked about takes on a new dimension in the context of today's media landscape. Successfully managing perception change requires a real understanding of the big picture.

This year the Future 5 project was looking for the most innovative campaigns that best encapsulate the latest communication trends -  Audience Participation, Use of Technology, Brand Partnerships, Research & Planning and the Big Creative Idea.

The judging panel selected the most forward thinking campaigns within each of the categories above which were celebrated in a feature in PR Week and Marketing, as well as written up on Brand Republic. In September, a special event also took place at the Groucho Club to reveal the winning campaigns and bring together communication innovators to discuss and debate innovation in marcomms today.

Innovative campaigns

Today's media landscape presents some great opportunities but also some
significant challenges; there's more noise, more fragmentation and more
chance of money being wasting.  Yet, as traditional media steadily
shrinks, the need to innovate has never been stronger.

By pushing boundaries and daring to try something different, whether
through the use of new channels or concepts, an integrated approach or
innovative use of planning or measurement, you're helping shape the
future of communications.

The Future 5 project is all about celebrating that innovation.
