Carbon Conversations

There's no shortage of noise when it comes to the sustainability debate. Greenbang wanted a campaign that would bring together some of the biggest influencers on the scene for a frank discussion about the issues that really matter.

Octopus was tasked by Greenbang with generating debate among the influencer community on tackling how businesses should cut carbon. We created the Carbon Conversation, a social influencer event, featuring a series of short, Ignite-style presentations from key commentators.

We surveyed 250 businesess via the Greenbang site around their carbon reduction plans, CRC and plans for 2010 and produced a report to create a news hook for our event. Speakers including Dan Ilett, Cisco, Carbon Trust, British Gas and GMTVs Joanna Yarrow.

The results: The 40 attendees at Carbon Conversations represented a number of media (and non-media) stakeholders including The Guardian, The Economist, Information Age, Utilyx, Future Foundation, and Global Action Plan. Coverage of the event was featured in Management Today and across the green blogosphere.
