Here at Octopus Comms we take patriotism to the next level. With a number of great events lined up this summer and sports being a huge passion for many, we are truly getting into the celebratory spirit.

Having celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee last week by dedicating our Friday afternoon 'beer o' clock' to her Majesty, we drank to the 60 action packed years she's been on the throne in true British style... royal inspired cup cakes and all! The team always go the extra mile when it comes to national events... so, in true Octopus style we are prepped and ready for the next one - Euro 2012.

We set up a sweepstake to create some healthy office competition and all chose our teams - so the whole office (apart from a few anti-football bods) is in the mood for what we hope to be a great tournament! With anticipation growing ahead of kick off tonight we have our 'pre-match musical warm up' Spotify playlist playing throughout the office to boost team morale, filled with a few British greats such as Three Lions and the National Anthem, and in true British fashion, we are clocking off early to support the squad at the local pub. What could possibly be better than a cold beer, a packet of salt & vinegar crisps and the whole office coming together to cheer on the country at the Euros?

No doubt the whole nation is going to be backing England tonight and although the difference in time zones is a bit of a pain, I'm sure many other businesses will be taking to the local pub early or streaming the match live in the office. Let's just hope Roy and the squad make us proud!
