We're really pleased to announce a social media project we are
working on for Action for Children
to promote their online charity
auction.
A number of celebrities have created a piece of art, inspired by
their personal journey, to highlight the difficult and complex
challenges and journeys through life that thousands of the most
vulnerable children and young people face every day.
The likes of
Lily Allen,
Fearne Cotton,
Rod Stewart and
Sir Ranulph Fiennes have volunteered to express themselves on
canvas. Working in partnership with GivingLots, 50 of these pieces
will be auctioned online, along with an exclusive event to view the
art pieces at an evening in Mayfair's Music Room.
Octopus is helping to raise awareness of the auction by
complementing Action for Children's traditional PR outreach with a
social media engagement programme. Our integrated social
media approach looks at blogs, forums, Facebook, MySpace and
Twitter and we are also looking to extend our online reach with an
online Celebrity Journeys
competition!
This outreach, looking not just at celebrity reach online but
also focusing on social media groups potentially interested in
supporting the charity, will help people find, share and discuss
the artwork more easily - and ultimately help drive traffic to the
online auction too.
Check out the piece below, no points for guessing who it's by,
but if you're unsure, click on it to find out and see the rest of
the celebrities' pieces.
