We've all heard the saying that there's no such thing as bad publicity but we've spotted a headline that we definitely don't want to take credit for - "Octopus gives England that sinking feeling." While we Octopedes thrive on strong judgment and trend-spotting, this chap is certainly not one of our clan, and to think he's English born!!

The story came to our attention via Channel 4 News. 

Called Paul (and let's face it, what else would you call an octopus) the critter in question has apparently got form when it comes to predicting the outcome of football matches, having foretold of Australia's defeat at the hands of the German football team.

How does he do it? Your guess is as good as ours!

As to how he expresses his choice of team, well he picks a mussel out of one of two available boxes, in this case one marked England and t'other Germany.

Dunno about you, but we think something about this smells fishy!
